Had my bike stolen last night (June 22/23rd) in the UWS (78th between West End & Riverside). Locked to a street-sign, they unbolted the signs on the post and lifted the bike over.
Bike Description – easily recognizable by the seat/tires/pedals on the frame.
– Black Frame, Drop-bar with shifters at the ends of the bars
– Cloth tan Brooks Cambium seat
– Tan-wall tires
– Black plastic fenders
– Two-sided chrome pedals, one side regular, one side for clips
– 24 speed
Had it parked to a street sign, u-locked, frame the side. Pinhead skewers and seatpost so I didn’t run a lock through any of that.
I’ve been hearing pneumatic tools (like you’d hear at an auto-shop taking lugnuts off of car tires) late at night, I suspect that is the theifs…anyone in the area be on the lookout and keep ears open.
